It’s amazing how many of us
who have lived through leaner times (myself included) start to take
what we have for granted and are disappointed that we don’t have more.

    When we use the word “commitment,” especially in reference to our
commitment to the Lord, we are usually thinking of it in terms of
dedicating our time, our talents, our energy, and our resources to the
service of our God and Savior.

             One of the ironies in all the technological advances that we have made is the fact that, even with all of our twenty-first century time-saving conveniences, we seem to be busier than ever and have less free time than ever before.  

As silence fell over the crowd,
the frail old man looked over his audience and with a wry smile
offered his suggestion for a profound theological statement that would
express the entire Christian message.  What he said was:  “Jesus loves
me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.”

Hypocrite” is one of those words that gets thrown around a lot
(perhaps even moreso as we are about to enter an election year).  It
is most often used to expose the inconsistencies of one’s opponents.
It’s a word that Jesus used quite often when He talked to or about the
religious leaders of His day.

Probably one of the most difficult and frustrating experiences in
life is watching someone who you really care about heading for certain
disaster.

The times, they are a’changin.’”  Things have always changed and they
always will.  Some of us feel uncomfortable with many of the changes
taking place around us, especially when it seems that most of them
aren’t necessarily for the better.  Sometimes all of these changes
make us feel as if we no longer belong in the world of today as we
look back on “the good old days” when life was a lot less complicated.
